International Quilt Market

Yesterday was day two of the International Quilt Market held in Salt Lake City, Utah. I thought I was tired yesterday but oh today brought ...being tired to a whole new level! Yesterday it was going from one class to another, but you were sitting a long time, so I held my own pretty well. Today, I had to leave more than once, and go sit down outside and just rest. But oh what an amazing experience it was. Still, I am so thankful to be healthy enough to even come to this.

The amount of talent that was in that place was unbelievable! I was surprised at how young many of the designers were. I think what I liked the most was meeting all the people. I know you are thinking..." I am not surprised at all" . You are right, I love people, I love getting to make new friends and learn about their lives and things. So many of the designers that I met were the nicest people ever! They were so real...it was refreshing!
Well, I would love to write more but I am beyond tired, so I am heading to bed, because I have one more day at Market!!!!!!

Welcome!

On Wednesday I flew in to S.L.C. Utah, for the 2011 Spring Quilt Market. I came with 3 other girls from the local Quilt Shop near my home. (http://www.gatheringfabrics.com/) Susan Webster is the owner, and she asked me and a couple of other girls to come with her to this market. We will all have the opportunity to check out all the new fabrics, patterns and tools. Then we help her decide what would be fun to have in her store. Now I have only been working at the Quilt Shop for 8 months. I do samples for the store and teach Demo classes twice a month and I absolutely love it! I think I love the fact that I am healthy enough to do   something that I love. I have been battling cancer and the side effects of treatments, for the past 2 years and so I feel very grateful to be able to work and to have the chance to come to this Market. Well, I need to head to bed, so I will have the energy to make it the whole day tomorrow. Tomorrow is called the SCHOOL HOUSE day, which means we get to learn from the best. I can't wait!
